Be Studio Savvy

Our studio is designed for you to pause, reconnect, and nurture your body and mind. To make the most of your experience and create a respectful community, we kindly ask you to follow these studio guidelines:

1) Book your class in advance

You must book every class online prior to attending. Walk-ins will not be guaranteed a spot, especially for our evening and weekend classes.

Why? Booking guarantees your place and helps us manage the space so everyone has the best experience. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

2) Arrive early

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class starts to check in, get set up, and relax. Even if you’ve booked online, always check in at the reception desk.

Why? Arriving early gives you time to ground yourself before class and ensures no disruptions for others.

3) The studio door will be locked 1 minute before class starts

Due to the layout of the building, and the stairs leading straight into the studio space, the main downstairs door is shut and locked 1 minute before class starts, therefore, if you’re late, unfortunately we won’t be able to let you in.

4) We are a shoe-free zone

All shoes must be removed downstairs and stored in the cubbies provided. You can bring your coat and bag upstairs with you.

Why? Keeping the studio shoe-free maintains cleanliness and honours the sacred nature of the space.

5) Fuel your practice thoughtfully

We recommend practicing on an empty stomach. Avoid eating heavy meals 2 hours before class, but feel free to have light snacks like fruit or juice for quick energy. Drink plenty of water before class to stay hydrated.

Why? An empty stomach makes movement and breathwork more comfortable, helping you feel lighter and more focused.

6) Dress comfortably

Wear clothing that allows you to stretch and move freely. Layers are great to adjust for changing temperatures. For relaxation (savasana), in the colder months bring socks or an extra layer to stay warm and cozy.

Why? Comfort is key to fully enjoying your practice and being present in your body.

7) A quiet, sacred space

Please turn your phone on silent and leave it in your bag before entering the studio. Phones are only allowed in emergencies or if you’re on-call. Recording is not permitted to respect everyone’s privacy.

Why? This is a space for mindfulness, free from distractions. Silence and stillness create a calm, focused environment for everyone. Give yourself the gift of disconnecting from constant screens.

8) For beginners

If you’re new to yoga, we recommend starting with classes like Foundations, Hatha, Slow Flow, or Yin. Let the teacher know you’re a beginner, so they can explain the class style and help you with props.

Why? Starting with beginner-friendly classes helps you build confidence and a strong foundation for your practice.

9) Let us know about injuries or special circumstances

If you’re pregnant, recovering from an injury, or have medical conditions, please inform the teacher before class.

Why? Your teacher can suggest modifications and ensure your practice is safe and supportive.

10) Practice regularly

To experience the full benefits of yoga, we recommend practicing regularly. Practicing at least 2-3 times per week will bring noticeable improvements within a few months.

Why? Consistency helps your body and mind adapt, strengthening your practice over time.
