Samhain Gathering: the veil between worlds 🪶

Calling all those interested in the old ways. The time hath come.

Samhain (pronounced Sow-in) is one of the most ancient Celtic festivals, marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, often known as the witch’s new year. It was believed that on this night, the boundary between the living and the spirit world dissolved, allowing us to honour our ancestors, and prepare for winter.

In the old Celtic world, Samhain was celebrated by everyone. Men and women, farmers and warriors, healers and seers, all gathered around the fire to share food, story, and song as the darker half of the year began.

It was a time to seek guidance from the ancestors, to offer gratitude to the land, and to call in protection for the winter ahead.
